Title: Clinical Resident

Summary of Duties:

The Ohio State University Counseling and Consultation Service (CCS) provides a full range of mental health services to a large
university community. CCS is comprised of senior staff professionals representing the disciplines of psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy and psychiatry. We also train interns, fellows, residents, and practicum students in these disciplines. Strong emphasis is placed on the interdependence of staff as working professionals with diverse interests and philosophies.
Clinical Residents receive advanced clinical training and supervision in university mental health services and brief therapy in a large, multidisciplinary, multicultural counseling center. Residents are provided with intensive individual supervision, weekly case conferences, and opportunities for case consultations with senior staff. This is a 12-month term position beginning August 1st though July 31st. Clinical Residents are expected to work two evenings (until 8 pm) per week.

About Counseling and Consultation Service

Counseling and Consultation Service (CCS) is a department within the Office of Student Life with the purpose of providing counseling and mental health services to the Ohio State University campus. The mission of CCS is to promote the well-being and academic success of students through access to diverse mental health services, outreach, and suicide prevention programming, while providing a multidisciplinary training program. The staff includes 52 senior staff (psychologists, psychiatrists, professional counselors, marriage and family therapists, and social workers), 25 trainees, and 11 administrative staff. Counseling and Consultation Service is housed in two main locations across campus, including the Younkin Success Center and the Lincoln Tower. Both locations house a variety of offices that support students' success at Ohio State.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of a Ph.D OR /Psy.D. in clinical or counseling psychology(graduation from an APA-accredited program preferred) OR MSW degree working toward independent licensure OR master’s degree in counseling/counselor education or related field working toward independent licensure. License to practice psychology. 0 years of relevant experience required. 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.

Requires successful completion of a background check.

 
COMPENSATION
$45,000 - Counseling and Social Work
$50,000 - Psychology
