POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Staff Psychologist will assist in all daily activities of the Counseling Center including: individual and group counseling, workshop development and facilitation, consultation and education, evaluation, crisis intervention, outreach programming, participation on topical committees and task forces. They will also be responsible for managing the case disposition process including data associated with referrals and dispositions.


Position Duties

  • Provide counseling for students regarding personal, academic, vocational, and educational matters. 
  • Attend and participate in University and Campus committees. 
  • Run training seminars as needed.
  • Attend case conferences, seminars, individual supervision, and University meetings related to the Counseling Center to enhance professional development and/or provide/receive information. 
  • Assist the Director of Counseling in preparing Counseling Center reports, research and grant activities. 
  • Provide crisis intervention on a twenty-four hour basis as part of an on call rotation. 
  • Maintain complete and professionally appropriate office records.   
  • Perform other such duties as may be assigned from time to time.


Supervision Exercised

Provides individual supervision on a variety of topics including individual therapy, screenings, crisis sessions, and outreach. Provide supervision of disposition process and supervision of case manager.


Position Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology required.
  • License (or license eligible within one year of hire) in the state of New York required. 
  • At least two years of college counseling experience or equivalent required. 
  • Experience with supervision of clinical staff preferred.


Work Hours

Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with additional hours as needed.
